Volunteer New York! is a one-stop resource devoted to increasing volunteerism in Westchester and our surrounding communities. Our core mission is to inspire, mobilize, and equip individuals and groups to take positive action to address pressing challenges, support nonprofits and strengthen the quality of life in our community.
For more than 65 years, Volunteer New York! has evolved to meet the changing needs in our community, creating initiatives in collaboration with the business community, expanding services to engage volunteers of all ages, and expanding its online outreach to make it even easier for people to get connected. Through organized volunteer projects, as well as by connecting individuals to nonprofit organizations, Volunteer New York! helps people take action to strengthen the quality of life in their community.
During the past year alone, Volunteer New York! inspired over 19,000 volunteers in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties who contributed over 299,000 hours of service valued in excess of $8.1 million.
For the past five years, GreatNonprofits.org named us a “Top-Rated Nonprofit” based on online reviews from volunteers and nonprofit partners. The 914Inc. Small Business Awards recently named us an “Outstanding Non Profit.”
Caroline and Katherine will speak to the “Triple Win Effect” of volunteer opportunities available through Volunteer New York!: A win for the not-for-profit; a win for you as you earn PDUs; and a win for you, since volunteering makes you feel great!
Caroline Walcott, MBA
Caroline is a volunteer ambassador with Volunteer New York!'s Job Readiness through Volunteerism (JRTV) program, a forum through which youth and adult participants come together to enhance job readiness skills, are encouraged to give back to their community through volunteer work, and understand how volunteering bolsters a resume and creates increased opportunities for employment. Caroline has worked in the not for profit sector for almost a decade; the majority of her NFP work experience includes that of a program supervisor and director with oversight for several community programs.
Caroline holds an MBA, a BA in social work, a BA in Behavioral Science and a Management Services Certificate (Institute of Management Services).
