Topic:

"Project Administration within Pepsi New Product Commercialization"

This talk will describe the fast paced, complex world of domestic and international beverage commercialization at the Pepsi Cola company and how Project Administration enhances the efficiency of project managers, provides portfolio management and data warehousing for over 60 projects, satisfies the reporting requirements of upper management and the communication needs of the project teams and their bottler customers.

Speaker: John Ellingham is Sr. Manager - Commercialization, Pepsi Cola R & D. He has over 20 years experience in Product Commercialization and Technical Support for consumer products with Fortune 500 organizations. Currently in charge of 7 technical professionals involved in over 50 domestic and international beverage product rollouts, John is also responsible for improvement and training of the New Product Commercialization and Launch process for Pepsi-Cola North America and Pepsico Int’l. Previous jobs at Pepsi include Principal Process Engineer and Pilot Plant Supervisor. Prior to Pepsi, John was Principal Development Engineer for Household Products Process Development at Unilever U.S. and Technical Service Engineer for Personal Products & Surgical Dressings at Johnson & Johnson, Inc. John has a B.S. Chemical Engineering and a B.A. Applied Science.

Ed Mahler, PMP is founder and President of the Project Administration Institute (PAI) providing project office and project portfolio management services and training with a focus on planning, tracking, and reporting control systems (Project Administration) for fortune 1000 companies involved in large complex project efforts. He has presented at PMI Seminars / Symposiums, Project World, Boston University Frontiers in Project Management, IPMA (International Project Management Association) conferences, and at PMI and other organization chapter meetings. Prior to founding PAI in 1992 Mr. Mahler worked 23 years with IBM on customer and internal projects as project manager, consultant, mentor, and participant. In addition to his role at PAI Ed is the founder and president of the Westchester chapter of PMI since August of 2002 and was the Vice President of Programs for the New York City PMI chapter from 1994 through 2001 helping to build that chapter from less than 50 to over 1200 members with 7 years of monthly programs. Ed lives in Larchmont and sails a Cape Dory 25 on Long Island Sound.
