Speaker: Lable Braun
Lable Braun, PMP, is Director of Consulting Services for Intel's Network Boards Divsion in Parsippany, NJ. During his 27 year career he has had regular opportunity for honing his negotiation skills, with especially productive outcomes once he started using Win-Win techniques over two decades ago. After ten fruitless years spent in the Performance Analysis and Capacity Planning arena he saw the light and became a Project Manager in 1985. Over his career he has built and managed several highly successful Program Management Offices and Professional and Consulting Service Delivery Teams. Lable can be reached at lablebraun@hotmail.com.
Topic: Win-Win Negotiating Techniques
Negotiating skills are the key to project success, from the dozens of everyday "little" interactions to the "big" negotiating events that are part of every project life-cycle. In this presentation, Lable Braun, PMP, will examine why so many of us are reluctant to enter into negotiations (the maybe-if-I-ignore-it-it'll-go-away syndrome), the conceptual barriers to negotiation (the but-this-has-never-been-negotiable-before syndrome), the various negotiation styles (and how to deal with them), and tips and techniques for ensuring a productive Win-Win Negotiation (the everything-we-think-we-know-may-be-wrong methodology of negotiation). Lable will tie these concepts directly into the challenges we all face daily as Project Managers.
