As Project Managers, we must never underestimate the value of reminding our team that we believe in them. When you interact with others as a leader, what is your mind-set? Is your intention to correct them or connect with them? Do you keep them down or lift them up? You have the choice with those you lead, with your family, your friends and colleagues.
Everyone in your life can use the encouragement that only you can give. Changing from directing to connecting is one of the most valuable shifts you will ever make as a leader. Individuals work better together, and the team gets stronger. Problems get solved more quickly because communication is better, team members know one another better, and they start pulling together.
As a result, in the long run you’ll save time. Your team will get better and so will you. Productivity will increase too!
Anupama Kinatukara is passionate about empowering and equipping women leaders to step out of their comfort zone and start believing in themselves as Positive Influencers, with or without a Title or Position of a Leader. She has not had an official Title in Leadership position the past 4 years, but she has had tremendous impact globally with 15K views of her talk on an online platform for Project Managers globally. She is helping other women in technology, be on a journey of success and then switch to being on a journey of significance like her!
Anupama lives in New Jersey and is a certified DISC Trainer, Motivational Speaker, Leadership Coach, and a CDL Implementer. Anupama lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland for 1.5 years working for British Telecom as an IT Analyst and explored places in Europe before she moved to the USA for a brighter future. She has been in leadership roles leading teams across the globe for the past 15+ years at Fortune 500 companies (IBM, MetLife, TIAA, Horizon BCBSNJ). She is currently serving on the President's Advisory Council of the Maxwell Leadership Team on the Systems & Data Committee.
Anupama is an award-winning Toastmaster and has been an International Keynote Speaker at various organizations including PMI Chapters (in USA, Singapore, Ireland & others) and Rotary Clubs across the globe. She volunteers her time at the Project Management chapter in New Jersey, at her church and in her community. She is a mom of 3 and a committed individual who is passionate about servant leadership & developing leaders around her.
Members: As this is our annual Chapter Business Meeting, the meeting is free to Chapter members.
This will be a hybrid meeting.
The in-person side of the hybrid meeting will be at The Royal Palace. In order to attend in person, you MUST pre-register on-line; there will be no admittance to "walk-ins" at the door.
The remote side of the meeting will take place via Zoom. You must also pre-register in order to attend remotely.
