Project Management Tools for Event Planning

Recording of the Chapter Meeting presentation: 20230207_PMIW_Chapter_Meeting_Presentation.mp4

Wedding Planning is one of the biggest projects most people will face outside of a work environment (and sometimes even bigger than work projects) and yet most are thrown into the task with no notion of how to effectively manage projects, associated costs and how to budget appropriately, or how to manage time effectively (both during the planning process and on the wedding day). There are tools that exist that can make wedding planning much more manageable. These tools and skills can also be used to manage other life events as well.

Speaker:
Martine Dardignac

Martine Dardignac is a marketing program manager and wedding planner with excellent communication skills and strong experience in managing client relationships.

Much like any project, planning a wedding is a process, and is a lot like herding cats. There are so many pieces, an entire team of people that needs to be established, all while balancing the needs of the couple and those closest to them. Martine's role as a Wedding Doctor is to help diagnose the challenges, prescribe a solution specific to the circumstances, and work together to build a plan that's right for the couple. She uses her strong voice to help remove obstacles for her customers by identifying their issues, collecting data to support proposed solutions, and collaborating with partners to motivate change.
