JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager will join the
7-person Business Planning and Technology (BPT) team and will partner with
technology counterparts in Investment Banking Technology (IBT) to analyze and
solve problems for a variety of IBD clients. In this capacity, the PM will
play a pivotal role supporting Investment Banking Division.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a team
setting and is passionate about providing innovative technology solutions
to solve complex business problems
Extensive experience overseeing
all aspects of large-scale technology implementations, including staffing,
budget and vendor oversight
- Highly strategic thinker/planner and effective
navigator in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Skilled problem-solver and consensus-builder among
executives and staff
- Adept at leading projects through the full project
lifecycle and delivering them on time and on budget
- Proven track record of managing a team of
business analysts and/or project managers with a complex set of
stakeholders across various business lines and organizational boundaries,
in particular Operations, Finance, Compliance and Technology
The PM’s responsibilities will
include:
Lead the product management
for the integration of IBD’s MIS systems
- Direct internal matrixed
functions (business analysis, technology, support & training) for the
execution of product development objectives.
- Develop and drive to project plans for multiple
initiatives – both process and technology-related – in parallel, delivering products and projects on time
- Understand the full suite of IBD tools, technology and
operations and how they are used by management and bankers
- Direct internal projects including integration,
implementations, product launches and tool launches
- Lead the team to develop and enhance products and the
user experience.
- Lead team of business analysts to identify business
needs
- Ensure a formal project process is followed, including
adequate specifications are completed and communicated
- Ensure the team delivers products and manages projects
with the highest quality, per spec or requirements and on time.
- Ensure the team is adequately managing risks
- Clearly communicate status and milestones to
stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships at all levels across
the business.
- Provide effective executive level status and reporting
on a regular basis
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum 8 years of project and/or product management experience with a focus on project management, system
integration, business analysis, functional specification & implementation
within the investment banking domain with a leading institution or in a
consultancy role
- Effective leadership and communication skills with
proven track record and initiative
- Requires a combination of high-level thinking and
ability to articulate a vision, coupled with the ability to execute to
make that vision a reality
- Experience delivering large scale system integration
initiatives in tight timeframes
- Ability to work in a high activity/pace environment
with managing associated stress
- Challenges others to do their best
- Experienced at building cohesive teams
- Effective at providing feedback both positive and
constructive
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to
effectively communicate with various departments and levels
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work
independently

Have affinity for nurturing business relationships and mentoring across

- Bachelors degree required—MBA is a plus
- Certified in project management a plus
