Kforce Client has a permanent position in Hartford for a Sr. Project Manager with significant experience managing Business Intelligence projects.

Salary $90 - 110K+

Project Manager - Select Business Intelligence & Analytics

This position is the primary point of accountability to Business partners and other parties for the management and implementation of small to medium sized business intelligence projects and/or small programs that support achievement of small commercial insurance goals. The Project Manager controls planning and execution of the project’s activities and resources to ensure that established cost, time, and quality goals are met. . The Project Manager works with moderate supervision and is responsible for applying advanced Project Management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to Project deliverables, processes, and systems in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. Additionally, the Project Manager has some experience leading successful business intelligence and/or data warehousing projects in a large, matrixed corporate organization. The Project Manager has some familiarity and experience with business intelligence technologies and their application to business problems. The Project Manager operates within defined parameters using a proven Project Management Methodology with flexibility to merge different methodologies in accomplishing collective goals.

Responsibilities:

Lead business intelligence teams in successful project delivery managing scope, budget and timelines

Manage quality of delivered projects through understanding business needs and overseeing development to ensure that projects deliver business value

Partner with IT and business units in developing high performing project teams

Communicate to and manage expectations of project business sponsors

Understand, apply, and advocate internal standards.

Develop project budgets and manage to them

Understand, contribute to, and monitor the project business case including key benefit metrics

Manage medium to high risk projects

Identify changes required for Projects that need to invoke contingency plans

Manage scope and change throughout all phases of projects

Manages day to day direction and coordination of project team

Communicates project status and health

Skills/Experience:

3+ years experience in project management in a large, matrix corporate organization

2+ years working in the field of data warehousing, business intelligence and/or financial systems

Knowledge in some technical aspects of business intelligence including data modeling, tools, relational database management systems, ETL, metadata / data management, and OLAP tools

Proven track record of delivering successful projects in a fast-paced corporate setting

Working knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Cognos, SAS, WebFOCUS, Business Objects, or MicroStrategy.

Basic understanding of the various analytical and reporting processes in a large insurance company including operational reporting, predictive modeling, financial analysis, and data mining.

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a diverse group of people at all levels in both IT and business

Background and experience in successful consulting (either internal or external management consulting)

Strong organizational skills

Strong communication and collaboration/team building skills

Solid presentation skills with experience presenting to senior leadership

Education:

BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, Business or other related field; MBA/MS a plus
