Position is with a Major International Law Firm located Downtown NYC.  Comp is up to 150K

 

Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the Technology Project Management Office. This includes overseeing the execution of the Technology Project Portfolio and serving as or directly supervising the dedicated Project Manager on all technology projects. This position is a member of the CIO’s Management team with a specialized focus on delivering projects on time, raising awareness of current and upcoming strategic projects, and progressively improving project quality standards and results.

 

Responsibilities:

Produce and maintain the annual Technology Project Portfolio of projects for the Information Technology, Practice Support, Records, Conflicts, and Imaging departments.

Direct each project on the Portfolio to ensure the entire scope is delivered on time, on budget, and with high quality. Consult with functional managers and resources in all aspects of planning and executing their assigned projects to make sure they meet objectives and organizational standards. Provide performance feedback on project resources to functional managers.

Provide regular updates to the CIO, the other members of the CIO’s Senior Management Team, and the department staff on the status of the projects on the Portfolio. Maintain a high-level view of the portfolio and raise awareness of cross-project dependencies and impact.

Produce year-end data quantifying the projects accomplished throughout the year and present a summary to the CIO’s Senior Management Team and the Firm’s Executive Director.

Continuously monitor issues, risks, and other threats to project time, cost, and scope. Exercise contingency plans to protect the success of the project. Provide consistent communication on such matters to the CIO.

Facilitate the intake process for new projects so that customer needs or other ad-hoc project opportunities are evaluated against the Firm’s strategic objectives and prioritized before work commences.

Oversee the consistent application and continuous improvement of the department’s project management methodology and enterprise project management system to ensure delivery of projects leads to high levels of customer satisfaction in the Firm.

Serve as Project Manager on projects deemed highly complex and/or strategic to the Firm.

Act as a subject matter expert to mentor and train managers and staff in project management techniques to improve the collective project management skill level among the staff in the CIO’s organization.

Oversee vendors and/or consulting resources when required on a project. Ensure scope of work is clearly defined and thoroughly delivered according to the contracted Statement of Work.

Manage the PMO staff (Business Analyst and Project Manager) in all aspects of their job duties to ensure professional development and conformance with PMO and organizational standards.

Requirements:
