The Southern New England Chapter of PMI was established in 1983 to cover all of the Connecticut area as well as Western Massachusetts and part of New York. When the chapter celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2003 they also reached the 1,000th member milestone. At the beginning of 2007 the membership count was over 1,600 members with nearly half of those having attained PMP certification. Most members work and live in the greater Connecticut area, covering a wide mix of industries and project professions.
About half of the monthly dinner meetings are held close to Hartford, CT, while other meetings are held in New Haven and Southbury. These meetings offer an excellent opportunity for networking and education. The chapter continues to attract sell-out attendance along with speakers representing the leading edge of project methodologies and experience.
