Our chapter meeting for April was held at the location of our very first meetings, the Royal Palace Indian restaurant in White Plains. In addition to the benefits of our regular meetings, we all had the chance to enjoy a rather good Indian buffet. Also, the size and layout of the room, combined with the food, fostered more ad-hoc networking as people sat at the tables to eat, getting a chance to meet others of our Chapter.

Our meeting was kicked off by John Murphy who gave a quick overview of the meeting.

This meeting was slightly different than our normal meetings as opposed to having 1 main speaker, this meeting featured three of our own constituents, each giving a 15 minute presentation. (John was slightly worried at this point as only two of the speakers had shown up!)

John handed the meeting over to Ed Mahler, chapter president, who gave a quick, but informative "state of the Chapter" overview along with a information about the Chapter.

Next up, our Career Corner, Kelly Bloss of the Knowledge Transfer Group spoke about her firm and what it has to offer.

Then Edwin Gomez of BOT International spoke about BOT's solutions for Project Management and how it was developed. His booth had a number of informative sheets about BOT's Processed On Demand. Check out his web site www.botinternational.com for more information, including the "Tips of the Week" and the Product White Papers!

John then introduced our first member speaker, Mark Heminway. Mark's topic was " Successful implementation of new industry standards through excellent teaming and teamwork".  He spoke about how his firm successfully implemented new industry standards through excellent teamwork. Mark worked for a major distributor of alcohol and that industry had no industry wide standards.

Our next speaker was Jacob Caspi. He spoke about "Information Control in Project Management". He gave some great insights into value of information control and how it helped his project become successful. He also discussed the value of document control systems as well as some of the product in the market now. <Insert picture p4140095 here>

Our third speaker, Andrew Demetres, was a little late, due to a meeting in New Jersey. But he arrived about half way through Jacob's talk, putting John at ease (as he was wondering what to do with out the third speaker). Andrew had just in time to boot up his lap top to get his presentation ready before he started his presentation called "How You Turned a Death March Around".

Remember, next month we are back at PACE in the Butcher Suite (upstairs in the Kessel Center). Our topic next month is "Construction and IT Project Management" . Hope to see you there!
