Required skills:

·         Demonstrated project management experience including management of multiple IT projects that were delivered on time and within budget

·         2 - 4 years experience in either application/software development or web site development

·         7 - 10 years experience in a role that required project management skills

·         Proven track record of managing project teams that include both IT staff members and business leaders

·         Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with the ability to quickly build credibility and influence, and make recommendations to staff at all levels

·         Consulting experience preferred

 

Required education and/or certifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science or other related area preferred

·         PMP Certification preferred

The IT Program Manager manages the successful completion of deliverables for all phases of the development lifecycle for multiple IT projects in a fast-paced environment.  Key responsibilities include:

·         Facilitate business owners in the development of a business case and support business in presenting the case to STG and corporate executive management

·         Analyze and rationalize requirements to determine agreed, achievable project objectives that align to organizational goals, strategies and objectives

·         Drive estimates for all components of the projects

·         Review, rationalize and integrate multiple work streams of projects into a structured, cohesive project plan

·         Coordinate with other project teams and plans as required

·         Successfully create, follow, update and maintain project schedules while tracking milestones and dependencies across teams within a project

·         Recommend scope boundaries to best meet business objectives within given time and resource constraints

·         Evaluate project staff following project completion, identifying strengths and areas for development via appraisal process, with full evaluation responsibility for any direct staff managed

·         Effectively communicate and maintain relationships with project team participants and project’s business stakeholders

·         Identify issues/problems that have impact beyond project; resolve issues working with teams across projects

·         Leverage expertise to develop and present options and recommendations for implementation strategies/action plans across multiple projects

·         Successfully champion program management improvement initiatives in the department

Successful incumbent will:

·         Become familiar with Gartner products, as well as specific systems, project scope and objectives, and the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate delivery of projects

·         Understand the strategic direction of the business to ensure that new features and functions are implemented to conform to stated strategies and business needs

·         Meet or exceed expectations from the Business Unit by communicating project updates, managing project scope and delivering the project on time

·         Offer assistance, guidance, and motivation to members of the project staff such that they look forward to contributing to other projects

·         Develop and sustain relationships with project stakeholders throughout project completion

·         Support customers’ efforts in change management
